Usual power charges and power supplies are manufactured with outputs for 5V, 12V or 24V. Sometimes you need a fixed voltage charger with 6V output for charge batteries or other applications. There is available on the market an integrated circuit 7806 with 6 Volts output. However, I don't have this IC in my spare parts collection, so the best solution I found is to modify an existing old charger with 5V output to deliver 6V.

- output protection with short circuit current limiter at 200 mA

The schematic diagram shows the use of a L7805 circuit with 5 Volts output and a reference made with two diodes to add one Volt to output. One of the diodes is 1N5817 Schottky with low forward voltage drop.
